Church
St.Kentigern's Church is situated in the centre of Irthington. The Parish is
part of 'The Ring of Parishes' comprising of Crosby-on-Eden, Irthington and
Scaleby and these form part of a larger grouping of parishes within the
Eden,Gelt and Irthing Team Ministry in the Carlisle Diocese and the Rural
Deanery of Brampton.
St.Kentigern's Church is a Norman building, erected in the twelfth century
and has later Victorian Gothic additions, including a clocktower which
chimes every quarter of an hour! The Church was thoroughly restored about
thirty years ago.
Services are held in the Parish Church every Sunday. These are as follows:
First Sunday: 6.30 p.m. Evensong (Book of Common Prayer)
Second Sunday: 11.00 a.m. Parish Communion (Common Worship,
Third Sunday: 11.00 a.m. Order One in contemporary language)
Fourth Sunday: 11.00 a.m. Family Service.
Everyone is welcome at all the Services and families are especially welcome
to the Family Service on the Fourth Sunday of each month.

for Evangelism in the Diocese of Carlisle.
