Parish Council
Irthington Parish Council is extremely active and works hard to promote the parish and to maintain and improve the quality of life for all residents. Indeed the website you are visiting is a Parish Council initiative.
The Parish Council works with many community groups and is in contact with Carlisle City Council and Cumbria County Council. The two City Councillors and the County Councillor who represent the parish are regular attendees at our meetings as is the Community Police Officer.
We meet once a month (the first wednesday of each month at 7.30pm) in Newtown Village Hall, members of the public are most welcome to attend our meetings and see what we do. Agendas for each meeting are posted on the various Parish Council noticeboards. And the minutes of each meeting are available for you to look at.
